Auto Media Optimizer Privacy Policy

Who we are

Auto Media Optimizer ("the app") is a Shopify app made by Batin Studio LLC ("we", "us"), a company registered in Wyoming, USA. This policy explains what the app does with data from stores that install it. For our website and agency services, see our general privacy policy.

What the app accesses

When you install the app, Shopify gives it these permissions on your store:

• Products (read and write): to find product and collection images and replace them with compressed versions.
• Files (read and write): to save a backup of each original image and the compressed image to your store's Files.

The app does not request access to customers, orders or payment information. It adds nothing to your storefront, collects no data from your store's visitors, and uses no tracking or advertising cookies.

What the app stores

• Store details: your store's myshopify domain and the access token Shopify issues so the app can work in the background.
• Staff details: when you open the app in your Shopify admin, Shopify may share the signed-in staff member's name, email address and locale. We use these only to run the session.
• Settings: your compression quality, output format, size limits and plan.
• Processing records: for each image the app handles, the Shopify media ID, product ID, image URLs, file sizes before and after, status and date. These power the savings shown in the app.
• Server logs: technical logs that include your store's domain and the result of each job, used to find and fix errors.

How images are processed

The app downloads each image from Shopify, compresses it on our own server, and uploads the result back to your store. Images are held only in memory while they are processed and are never saved on our server. The backup of each original is saved in your store's Files, so you keep it even if you uninstall the app. We do not send your images to any third-party image service.

How we use the data

• To compress your images and show your results in the app.
• To manage your plan. Shopify handles all billing.
• To answer support requests you send us.
• To keep the app secure and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell or rent this data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models.

Who we share it with

• Shopify, which runs the platform and billing.
• Oracle Cloud, which hosts the server and database the app runs on.

Neither receives the data for its own marketing. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

Where data is processed

We are not established in the European Union or the United Kingdom. The app's server and database are hosted by Oracle Cloud, and our team, based in Bangladesh, manages them from there. If your store is in Europe, its data is processed outside Europe.

Legal basis (EEA and UK)

We process store data because you installed the app and it needs that data to work, and where the law requires us to keep or disclose it.

Security

All traffic between Shopify, your browser and the app is encrypted over HTTPS. Only our team can access the server and database, and the app requests only the two permissions it needs.

Retention and deletion

• We keep the data above while the app is installed.
• When you uninstall, we delete your store's access token and session details right away.
• About 48 hours later, Shopify sends us a request to erase your store's data, and we then delete your settings and processing records.
• Compressed images and backups stay in your store's Files, which you control.
• Because the app holds no customer data, Shopify's customer data requests and customer erasure requests have nothing to return or remove. We still acknowledge them.
• To have your data deleted sooner, email hello@batinstudio.com from the store owner's address.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Email hello@batinstudio.com and we'll respond within the time the law requires. If you're in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The app is for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We'll update this page when the app's data practices change and adjust the date at the top.
